We support the students who have arrived from other countries and who need some additional help to improve their English.
We are lucky to have so many students from different parts of the world, coming with a wide range of experiences and we learn a lot about each other's countries! There are over 40 languages spoken by the students in the academy and many staff are bilingual too.
The EAL Team are here to help you settle in to the academy and we will support you to improve your English in small group interventions and by supporting you in-class to help you understand the lessons.

Other ways to improve your English:
Watch films and videos - play at a slower speed and add the subtitles
Borrow some books from the library which are not too difficult - keep a record of the new words you learn
Join a club in Year 7 - do something you enjoy and make new friends
Go along to the Lunchtime Club once a week and play some games while you have lunch
